Pythagorean Spiral
8.G.6 Explain a proof of the Pythagorean Theorem and its converse.
8.G.7 Apply the Pythagorean Theorem to determine unknown side lengths in right triangles in real-world and mathematical problems in two and three dimensions.
1) Rewrite the standard in your own words. How does this assignment relate to the standard?
This standard relates to the assignment because in this assignment we needed to create a spiral using only right triangles. We were told that the legs of the triangle were 2cm and that we needed to find the hypotenuses of the triangle. We needed to continue this until the triangle reached the first triangle.
2) What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
The steps that I took to complete this assignment is first I needed to learn the rule of the Pythagorean theorem a2 + b2 = c2. Then my next step was to draw a right triage and create other right triangles from that first one until i create a spiral.to do this i need to find the length of the hypotenuse.
3) This assignment demonstrates the following strengths..
This assignment demonstrates that i understand the Pythagorean theorem and know when or how to use it. It also shows that i can use the Pythagorean theorem in real world problems. This project also demonstrates that
4) I could have improved my work on this assignment by..
I could have improved my work on this assignment by reading the directions better. I didn't write the work for all the triangles so i needed to do them in the last minute. Also I didn't understand the Pythagorean theorem and the project completely so i ended up doing the project three times.
5) How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I can apply the skills I learned in this class when I want to make something more interesting. Do to this project I needed to use creativity and math together. Have this skill will make it easier for me to teach someone in a more fun and interesting way.
